Henrietta Lacks Dunbar Health Science Scholarship and Mentoring Program

The Henrietta Lacks Dunbar Health Science Scholarship is a partnership among the Dunbar Hopkins Health Partnership, Johns Hopkins Hospital, Hopkins School of Medicine, and Dunbar High School. A scholarship is awarded to a Dunbar junior annually. Part of the benefit of being nominated for the scholarship, all nominees who complete the entire application process are invited to be part of a mentoring program coordinated by the Office for Student Diversity at Hopkins School of Medicine. The mentor program includes pairing a member of Hopkins community with a Dunbar student along with special opportunities on campus, such as activities at the Sim center, shadowing physicians, and inspirational lectures from Hopkins faculty.
