2009 - 2010 Award Notice Process - PhD Students

 Academic Calendar - Class Start Dates:
The official start date of classes is based on the academic calendar published by the Registrar's Office. The start and end dates of your program determines the effective date of your financial aid disbursements for the fall and spring semesters. You may view the academic calendar for your program and the established financial aid disbursement schedule for the current academic year.

Award Notification:
Students notified beginning August 30

Students are notified by email using their assigned JHED email address.   All students are directed to accept and decline their awards through the ISIS (Integrated Student Information System) Financial Aid Self-Service module.  Students will be notified of the process at time of awarding.

Awarding:
Students must complete the FAFSA application for consideration of federal and institutional financial aid funding.   Students are encouraged to file by the priority award date of March 15 to ensure timely awarding of their financial aid package.

Loan awards from the Federal Direct Unsubsidized loan programs will not be offered until all departmental aid support has been entered on the student’s financial aid record. 

 Departmental Graduate Aid (DGA):

  • Tuition
  • Health Insurance
  • Dental Insurance
  • Matriculation Fee
  • Stipend

No loan requests will be processed until this information is obtained from your department.
 
 
First Time Federal Loan Borrowers:
All first time borrowers of federal loans must complete an online entrance counseling session. First time borrowers of Federal Direct Unsubsidized loans will also be required to complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN).  Students can complete their MPN NOW.

No loan funds will be released for any of the above loan funds until all required information and promissory note confirmations have been received.
