Parking and Transportation

Parking and Transportation Options

Academic Year 2008-2009

Students have a variety of parking and transportation options, which they are strongly advised to use, as street parking adjacent to the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions is unsafe.

Free off-site parking is available at two lots: Monument Street and Fallsway, both located about a mile from the School of Medicine.  Frequent shuttles connect these two lots to the School of Medicine.  For permits, please contact the Office of Financial Affair in the Broadway Research Building in Suite 131.  Please note there is limited availability at these two lots therefore permits are issued on a first come, first serve basis.  A $20 refundable deposit is required to receive a transponder for the Monument Street Lot.

Mass Transit Administration (MTA) passes are available for $20 a month and can be purchased in the Office of Financial Affairs.  They can be used on buses, the Metro Subway System, and the Light Rail.  Please note that MTA passes cannot be purchased during the months that other JHMI parking services are utilized.

Other on-site parking is available for $115 a month. Please contact the Parking Office in Harvey/Nelson Room 108 for more details.  (410)955-5333

Evening (between 4:00 p.m. and 8:30 a.m.) and weekend parking in all Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions garages is available to all students at no cost.  Simply, swipe your JHU ID badge in the card reader to gain access and to leave the garages.  For additional information on parking and transportation, please refer to http://www/hopkinsmedicine.org/security/ .

The Kennedy Kreiger parking lot located between Ashland Avenue and Madison Street is not a Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions garage.  Parking at this lot is not free during evenings(between 4:00 p.m. and 8:30 a.m.) or weekends.
