FAQs

Electronic Student Account Access, Billing Information & Payment Services

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get a paper bill instead of (or in addition to) the e-bill?

All currently enrolled students will be billed electronically.  Students who have graduated or withdrawn can no longer receive an e-bill, and will automatically receive paper bills.

Enrolled students who desire paper copies of their bills, can log into their student account at https://isis.jhu.edu/sswf/ to download and print a copy of your bill. Enrolled students can also forward copies of their bills to parents and other payers.  Printable copies of the bills are retained online for 12 months.

How do I login?

You can login through using your JHED login and password at https://isis.jhu.edu/sswf/.

How do parents or other authorized payer login?

If a student wants someone to view or pay their bills, the student must first set up an authorized payer with a login name and password. The authorized payer may then access the student account at this website:  https://isis.jhu.edu/sswf/sbs/authorizedpayer/. After logging into the system, the authorized user can change their password, setup and store their own profile account information, review the bill or any past bills, make a payment, view any past payments they have made on the students behalf, and print a copy of the bill.

How do I set up authorized payer?

You will login through the Student Web Services website using your JHED login  and password at https://isis.jhu.edu/sswf/ . You will have an option to set up a login ID and password for the authorized payer. You must provide this information to the authorized payer. You can also terminate the authorized payer's access at any time.

Will I be notified when I have a bill online?

An email notification will be sent to your Johns Hopkins School of Medicine email address when a bill is available to view.  If you don’t receive an email notification, you are still held responsible to pay your account and to login prior to the payment due date of each billing period to avoid a late payment fee.

Does the email notification have to be sent to my School of Medicine (SOM) account?

Yes.  Your SOM email account is the official repository for all billing notification and related correspondence.

Who do I contact if I cannot login to view my bill?

Please contact the Office of Financial Affairs at 410-955-3216 or Somstudentaccts@jhmi.edu .

If I or my authorized payers do not feel comfortable paying my bill online, is there an alternative method to pay my bill?

Although preferred, paying the bill electronically is optional.  You can pay your bill by printing a copy from the web, then mailing the top portion with a check made payable to Johns Hopkins Universityto the following address:

Johns Hopkins University
School of Medicine
P.O. Box 64235
Baltimore, MD 21264-4858

You can also pay your bill in person at the School of Medicine Office of Financial Affairs located in Suite 131 of the Broadway Research Building.  Please note that e-payments are safe and secure and certified by VeriSign, the nation’s largest online payment verification provider. Paying online is much easier and more convenient than paying by mail or in person and it saves you time and postage!
