The Johns Hopkins Hospital has a tradition of commitment to professional social work education and has been a longstanding field placement site. Fieldwork is an important component of social work education. It is through the integration of the theoretical material presented in the classroom and the opportunity for guided fieldwork practice that students are prepared for professional practice. The goal of the Johns Hopkins Hospital, Social Work Field Instruction Program is to prepare students for practice, in a manner which reflects the principles underlying the Social Work Code of Ethics.
