Multiple gestations, including twins and triplets, and even more, are exciting. These pregnancies can also add an extra level of stress. Our practice is committed to guiding couples through multiple gestations.
Multiple pregnancies have become more common as an increasing number of women explore assisted reproductive technologies – like in vetro fertilization (IVF) – and as they explore the option of having children later in life.
Although these pregnancies don’t have to be more complicated than a singleton pregnancy, at times, preterm labor, preeclampsia (maternal hypertensive disorder), and diabetes can occur.
Our obstetricians have experience in managing these complications and helping patients with post partum management of complications like post partum blues, lactation issues, and locating support groups and resources for women with multiples.
