Obstetrics

Obstetrics is a huge and rewarding part of our practice. We take great pride that many of our younger patients are the granddaughters of some of our first patients.

OB Physicians

Preconception counseling

All of our practitioners, including our physicians and Certified Nurse Midwives offer pre-conception counseling, fertility evaluations and important health information about preparing for pregnancy.

Pregnancy

Once you are pregnant, we will schedule several appointments at the beginning, so you are confident you have all the information you need. We offer obstetric ultrasound in our office and will present you with all the prenatal testing options so you can make the right choice for you and your family.

Labor and Delivery

We will do our absolute best to provide you with the labor and delivery you hope for. Our Certified Nurse Midwives offer both traditional birthing practices, as well as the use of pain relief medications. Additionally, we will help you make decisions that will minimize risk to both you and your baby.

We deliver all babies at Howard County General Hospital, where the staff will make every effort to support your labor and delivery choices. We always have a midwife/doctor team on call and they will be there to help you deliver your baby.

Post-partum care

Post-partum care is an important part of what we do, and we strive to provide evaluation and counseling for new parents, including education and supportive care at this new, exciting—but stressful time.
