Maternal Fetal Medicine
Sibley’s Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Program is excited to offer you our expertise and services during this important time in your life.
Sibley’s excellence in obstetrics has expanded to include our diagnostic and consultative MFM Program. We offer expertise in high-risk pregnancy management, comprehensive evaluation and recommendations for referring providers. Our providers include experts in labor and delivery nursing, specialty-trained physicians, genetic counseling, perinatal sonography and diagnostic imaging.
Dr. Rita Driggers, Director of Maternal Fetal Medicine at Sibley Memorial Hospital, is the lead author on a recent paper on the effects of the Zika virus on fetal brain development. See an interview with her on the WUSA9 website.
The MFM team is trained to manage high-risk situations that may arise during pregnancy and provide comprehensive care by equipping patients with the appropriate knowledge to ensure the optimum outcomes of mother and baby. The MFM physicians are available for on-site consultation services and inpatient consults for ante/postpartum care, as well as emergency consultations.
