About the Emergency Department

The Emergency Department at Sibley Memorial Hospital practices leading-edge emergency medicine in a patient-friendly environment. We combine outstanding clinical care, efficiency, comfort, dignity and safety to approximately 40,000 patients each year. Our new department is located on the first floor of New Sibley building, located next to the hospital. Patients can be dropped off at the emergency entrance on Little Falls Road.

The Department is divided into two areas. Our expanded major treatment area has 22 beds and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. There is a separate Fast Track area with 6 treatment bays designed to provide patients with less serious complaints faster treatment and discharge, as well as 3 Quick Look bays that are used for rapid medical evaluation.
