Sibley Memorial Hospital and Suburban Hospital, both members of Johns Hopkins Medicine, have been recognized as a “Leader in LGBT Healthcare Equality” by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation, the educational arm of the country’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) civil rights organization.

The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, a nonprofit of 12,000 physicians, examined menus from 262 hospitals across the country and ranked each based on whether the menus included such foods as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, soy milk and cholesterol-free meals.

Readers of Bethesda Magazine voted Suburban Hospital’s emergency room as the best in the area. It’s the hospital’s sixth year being featured in the magazine’s annual “Best of Bethesda” edition.  Sibley Memorial Hospital’s emergency room was also a top vote getter in the reader’s poll.

Sibley Memorial Hospital, a member of Johns Hopkins Medicine, will dedicate its new, advanced Emergency Department (ED) on Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 9:30 a.m. The new ED boasts a host of new features designed to enhance care within a highly efficient and patient-friendly environment. It will be open to the public later this month.
