Definition:
Maryland Health and Higher Education Facilities Authority - MHHEFA owns the parking facilities located on the Johns Hopkins East Baltimore Medical Campus. Broadway Services, Inc. operates the facilities under contract with MHHEFA.

The Special Events Parking policy refers to requests for parking due to special events, meetings and seminars on the East Baltimore campus.

Purpose:
To outline the proper procedure for individuals and departments to request special parking for events on campus.

Procedure:
A department hosting a special event may request permission to direct parkers to a specific parking facility. Requests must be submitted in writing (either on letterhead or via e-mail) to the Director or Assistant Director of Parking. Requests must be received no later than three working days prior to the event and must state the name of the event, the date/time of the event, the location of the event, contact person, the specific parking facility the department is requesting and the estimated number of attendees that will need parking. The Parking Operations Office will determine the space availability and will make recommendations to ensure that space for permit holders and patients will not be affected.

All transient parkers will be charged according to the established daily rates, however, if the event is hosted by a JHM department, the department can purchase departmental stamps or request a special event validator (see Parking Policy Number 002).
