Definition:
Maryland Health and Higher Education Facilities Authority - MHHEFA
owns the parking facilities located on the Johns Hopkins East Baltimore
Medical Campus. Broadway Services, Inc. operates the facilities under
contract with MHHEFA.
The Emergency Pass Policy defines the procedure which allows access
cardholders to obtain an emergency pass to exit the facility.
Purpose:
In the event an access card has been forgotten or misplaced, the cardholder
may obtain an emergency pass to be allowed to exit parking facility
without accruing parking fees.
Procedure:
Emergency passes are issued when the Permit Holder enters the facility
and has forgotten or misplaced the parking permit. Once the customer
pulls a ticket he/she has thirty minutes to bring the ticket to the
garage office for validation.
- Customer must present identification for verification.
- Management will verify that the customer is a paid Permit Holder
by entering the customer's name or social security number into the
computer.
- Garage Office will check the clearance; verify last entry, last
exit, time and date the customer used the facility.
- If valid, the parking staff will fill out an Emergency Pass form
and request the customer to sign.
- Garage Office staff will clock the ticket out in his/her employee
time clock and will document the transaction on the daily "Exception
Report Form."
