Definition:
Maryland Health and Higher Education Facilities Authority - MHHEFA owns the parking facilities located on the Johns Hopkins East Baltimore Medical Campus. Broadway Services, Inc. operates the facilities under contract with MHHEFA.

Base Access refers to time periods in which all JHMI employees/students are allowed to park on campus without having to pay parking rates. Base Access refers to the following time periods:

  • Monday through Friday, 4:00 p.m. through 8:30 a.m. the next morning.
  • All Day Saturday, Sunday, and designated JHH Holidays.

Purpose:
To provide an affordable means to employee/students who may need to utilize the on-site garages after peak parking periods.

Procedure:
All Johns Hopkins East Baltimore Medical Campus staff/students are assigned Base Access. An individual's I.D. badge is considered their parking permit. Individuals must swipe their I.D. badge to enter and exit the parking facility.

Upon entering the garage swipe the ID Badge to gain access and swipe the badge to exit. If the system rejects access/egress, please push the intercom button for assistance.

Employees and students who inadvertently pull a ticket will be given one grace period of free parking during the Base Access period. Pulling a ticket after this will result in charges for time parked.
