Our process: coordination with your referring physician
Written permission must be obtained from your local physician to request a medical second opinion from Johns Hopkins Surgery. After completing required forms, you will mail us copies of pertinent diagnostic imaging tests. A fee will be charged to a credit card prior to the images being reviewed. A formal letter containing the Johns Hopkins physician’s assessment and recommendation(s) will be mailed or faxed to your referring physician.
In accordance with the state statutes, this service is not available for patients residing in:
- New York
- North Dakota
If you are a resident of one of these states and wish to have a second opinion from a Johns Hopkins surgeon, we are happy to assist you in making an appointment to be seen at one of our offices in the Baltimore metropolitan area. We also offer a pathology slides review service. For more information, please call 410-464-6555.
