To make way for our new state-of-the-art clinical facilities, Hopkins has bid farewell to the Broadway Garage. During several years of construction activity, we ask for your patience and cooperation. We will work hard to keep you informed of changes during the construction. Right now, the most important details for patients and visitors are outlined below. The Broadway Garage is now permanently closed. The replacement garage, located across Orleans Street, does not have any direct access routes into the Hospital during the construction of the new buildings. In an effort to ease your parking/Hospital access needs, we are providing the following options:  The McElderry Garage located off of Caroline Street on McElderry Street (see map below) has been designated as The Johns Hopkins Hospital’s Patient/Visitor Garage. This facility provides direct covered access into the Hospital complex.
If you choose to walk to your destination after parking at the McElderry Garage, look for “Jack Hammer”—our friendly guide (seen right). Jack Hammer figures are posted along the route to the Outpatient Center and Hospital signposts.
- A patient/visitor convenience shuttle is provided from the Outpatient Center Circle (see general map below), opposite the garage, to The Johns Hopkins Hospitals’ main entrance at the Wolfe Street Circle. The shuttle runs every 15 minutes from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends and holidays.

- A new valet service runs from the Wolfe Street Circle (see map below) adjacent to the main entrance of the Hospital. The service is available from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday.
A transportation waiting area has been created at the Hospital’s main lobby. As shuttles, cabs and personal vehicles drop patients and visitors off at Wolfe. St., Hospital personnel designated as “Patient Ambassadors” will meet and greet patients, provide support, monitor patient flow and facilitate escorts when needed. Discharged patients can be escorted to this area to wait for their transportation home. Patients using County Ride and the Yellow Van transportation provided by local health departments may use this area to wait for pick up when the Wolfe Street entrance is their designated pick up location. Hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 7 pm. Monday through Friday.
