Dr. Hummers is a clinical investigator with a clinical and research interest in scleroderma. She also has a particular interest in scleroderma-like disorders, specifically scleromyxedema. The focus of her research is the study of biomarkers to predict outcomes in scleroderma, with a particular focus on the vascular manifestations of scleroderma such as digital ischemia and pulmonary hypertension. She involved in multiple clinical trials and is also studying the mechanism of response to IVIG in scleromyxedema.
