Peter Pronovost Lab

  • Research in the Peter Pronovost Lab focuses on ways to make hospitals and health care safer for patients, with a focus on quality of overall care and ICU care. Through our studies, our team has developed a scientifically proven method for minimizing infection from central line catheters, a protocol that promises to virtually eliminate these potentially deadly infections. Other recent research has included an economic analysis of the Michigan Keystone Patient Safety Program in ICUs, a longitudinal study of depressive symptoms and impaired physical function in patients with acute lung injury, and an exploration of methods for meeting standards of high-quality ICU palliative care.
