The John G. Rangos, Sr., Award for Creativity in Cancer Discovery is awarded annually to individuals with new and innovative approaches to metastatic cancer research and treatment.
Why It Was Created
Most metastatic tumors remain incurable and continue to kill one in four Americans, but a small number of advanced cancers do not exhibit the same therapeutic resistance.
The Rangos Award – named for entrepreneur and philanthropist John G. Rangos, Sr. – was created to inspire original ideas and innovative approaches to determine why some cancers are treatable, but others are not.
Eligibility Requirements
Participants must be currently enrolled full-time students and trainees at The Johns Hopkins University, including undergraduate, graduate, medical students, residents and fellows. Learn more about the eligibility requirements, and meet the 2013 finalists.
