Sallie Weaver, PhD

Sallie J. Weaver, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine and Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Weaver holds an appointment with the Armstrong Institute, where her stream of research focuses on measurement of human performance processes and organizational system factors (e.g., safety culture), and interventions designed to optimize patient safety.

Prior to joining the faculty at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Weaver worked with the Institute for Simulation and Training at the University of Central Florida where she supervised studies of team performance and organizational culture across a wide range of sponsors, including the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), and the U.S. Office of Naval Research (ONR). Her work appears in peer-reviewed outlets that include Academic Medicine, the Joint Commission Journal on Quality & Patient Safety, Academic Emergency Medicine, and the Journal of Continuing Education in the Health Profession
