Clinical Practice:

  • Intensive care, particularly related to acute lung injury/acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS)
  • High frequency oscillation (HFO) ventilation
  • Physical rehabilitation and mobilization in the intensive care unit (ICU)

Research Interests:

  • Changing medical care in the ICU to improve patients’ quality of life, and physical and mental health during their recovery from critical illness after hospital discharge

  • Improving methods of physical rehabilitation in the ICU setting to reduce muscle weakness and functional impairment

  • Patient safety, quality of care and knowledge translation of evidence-based therapy in the ICU
