About our Practice
We provide comprehensive care for patients with pulmonary hypertension with our team including cardiologists, radiologists, rheumatologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, and dedicated nurses and therapists. Our services include diagnosis of all forms of pulmonary hypertension, including idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), and diseases associated with PAH, such as connective tissue disease and sickle cell disease, as well as specific medical treatment of pulmonary hypertension and its associated complications.
Therapeutic options for this serious disorder have greatly expanded in recent years. New oral, inhaled, and intravenous treatments provide a range of therapies that can be individualized to meet patient needs and offer new hope for what used to be a terrifying diagnosis.
Our program participates in numerous multi-center clinical trials for treatment of PAH. Thus, in addition to FDA-approved drugs, we have the ability to provide promising investigational drugs to appropriate patients with PAH. We are also involved in several NIH-sponsored trials focused on studying the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary hypertension with a special focus on scleroderma-related PAH, and pulmonary hypertension related to sickle cell disease, H IV, and chronic obstructive lung disease.
