Community Outreach

Behavioral Sleep Medicine Program

As part of our continued commitment to educational outreach, community citizenship, and building strong relationships with our Maryland neighbors, The Johns Hopkins Behavioral Sleep Medicine Program provides educational presentations on sleep, sleep disorders, and easy ways to get a good night’s sleep to groups in the greater Baltimore area.

In 2008 and 2009 we brought our most popular presentation, “Almost Everything You’ll Ever Need to Know About Sleep and Aging,” to organizations including Ateaze Senior Center, Blakehurst Retirement Community, Broadmead, Bykota Senior Center, Catonsville Senior Center, Cockeysville Senior Center, Edgemere Senior Center, Harford Senior Center, Hatton Senior Center, Kirkwood, Mid-Atlantic Lupus Foundation, North Oaks, Waxter Senior Center, and Westminster. Free-of-charge presentations will be available in 2010, schedule permitting.

To inquire about a presentation for your group, organization, or school, please contact Renata Okonkwo at (410) 550-7901.

Renata Okonkwo, PhD, is a clinical and research fellow in the Johns Hopkins Behavioral Sleep Medicine Program.
