Mood disorders, including depression and bipolar disorder as well as other mood-related problems can cause significant impairment in a child or teenager's functioning - affecting home life, school performance, and social development. Symptoms may include:
- Boredom
- Irritability
- Moodiness
- Isolation
- Loss of interest in activities
- Decline in grades
Treatment for these problems can include individual therapy, family work, and medication management. Our expert clinicians work with families to help a youngster not only recover from the symptoms, but also get back on track in their school and social activities. Coordinating with local resources often plays an important role and our teams work with families to facilitate a full recovery.
WHAT TO EXPECT
In order to connect families with the right team of providers, our intake coordinator will gather information about you, your child and your concerns over the telephone. Your initial appointment will be 2-3 hours and will include an extensive clinical interview with feedback.
