Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a common childhood disorder that affects behavior at home, at school, and with peers. Clinical skills, familiarity with normal development, and rigorous application of diagnostic criteria are essential to making an accurate diagnosis and determining treatment options. Our program uses both direct clinical assessment and psychological testing to evaluate each child. Symptoms may include:
- Off task with assignments
- Doesn't seem to listen
- 'On the go' all the time
- Often fidgety or physically restless
- Difficulty waiting for his/her turn
The program offers specialized services that include medication management, parent training sessions with extensive support and guidance, behavioral interventions for youngsters, and school consultation. Each family is offered the combination of services that are most appropriate for their child.
WHAT TO EXPECT
In order to connect families with the right team of providers, our intake coordinator will gather information about you, your child and your concerns over the telephone. Your initial appointment will be 2-3 hours and will include an extensive clinical interview with feedback.
