Structural Brain Correlates of MDMA Use

PI: Susan Bassett, Ph.D.
IRB # 04-06-28-03

The aim of this study is to examine the effects MDMA has on the hippocampal, amygdaloid and striatal structures and the relationship between drug-induced damage and neuropsychological function. In addition, this study will help elucidate the impact of MDMA on temporal lobe physiology and subsequent learning/memory, emotional recognition and impulsivity between MDMA users, polydrug users, and normals. Further, gender differences in response to MDMA use will be investigated.

For questions about this study or if you would like to participate, please contact Vanessa Johnson at 410-955-5099.
