Patient care is at the heart of everything we do at the Johns Hopkins Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Our first goal is to help you find the most appropriate setting and type of care for you, a relative, or a friend. Our clinical care takes the form of general and specialized inpatient units, day hospital (partial hospitalization) programs, and numerous outpatient and consultation clinics. We provide services at two locations - The Johns Hopkins Hospital and at The Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.
All of our patient services can be found under Specialty Areas - listed by particular psychiatric diagnosis (such as mood disorders, schizophrenia, substance-use disorder, or memory disorders) or by age group (such as children or geriatric patients). Contact and location information is provided with each clinical description.
Psychiatry admissions for inpatient and day hospital care are handled by a separate office than the main hospital admissions office. You can find contact information here for both The Johns Hopkins Hospital and The Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, important information about billing and payment, plus what to expect upon admission. Read too about psychiatric care in The Johns Hopkins Emergency Department.
You can learn more about a particular psychiatrist or researcher in our faculty directory, find books written by our faculty, or look for research projects that are currently recruiting volunteer participants. A resource list of websites of outside organizations and agencies that may be useful to patients and families is provided by our social workers.
If you cannot find what you need at these web locations, please call 410-955-5212.
