Dr. Hoseong Steve Yang is an Assistant Professor and Assistant Director of Cutaneous Translational Research Program in the Department of Dermatology at Johns Hopkins. Dr. Yang earned his undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University, where he was at the top of his class (Phi Beta Kappa). He received his medical training in the prestigious Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of Michigan Medical School, where he completed his MD and PhD degrees.

Dr. Yang completed his dermatology residency at Johns Hopkins, where he also served as the Chief Resident. He has received numerous honors and awards including the Frank L. Coulson Award for Clinical Excellence and research funding from the Dermatology Foundation, National Institutes of Health, and Skin of Color Society. He maintains an active research laboratory at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and presents regularly at national and international conferences. Dr. Yang is a board-certified dermatologist and an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology and American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. His research has been published in leading scientific journals such as Dermatologic Surgery, Development, Journal of Clinical Investigation, and Nature Genetics.

Dr. Yang specializes in general and complex medical dermatology as well as procedural dermatology including but not limited to laser surgery for birthmarks, blood vessels, and brown spots. Dr. Yang is also fluent in Korean. more
