Background
Dr. Blackman attended college at the George Washington University, where she got a B.S. in Zoology in 1992. She graduated from medical school at Vanderbilt University in 1996, and stayed on to do a residency in General Psychiatry. She completed her fellowship training in Child and Family Psychiatry at the Rhode Island Hospital/Brown University program in 2001.
Following completion of her training in 2001, Dr. Blackman returned to Baltimore to work at the Kennedy Krieger Institute in the school programs, where she has remained. She is currently the Senior Psychiatrist at the Kennedy Krieger School- Fairmount campus program, which serves grades K-8, and is on faculty at Johns Hopkins as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, in the Department of Psychiatry.
