Biography

Dr. Leigh Ann Price is an assistant professor of plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She specializes in acute and reconstructive burn surgery and complex wounds.

Dr. Price received her B.S. in biology and psychology from Southwest Missouri State University. She earned her M.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She completed her residency in general surgery at Baystate Medical Center, an affiliate of Tufts University. After a fellowship in burn surgery at the Johns Hopkins Burn Center, Dr. Price completed a combined plastic and reconstructive surgery program based both at Hopkins and at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Dr. Price joined the Johns Hopkins faculty in 2010. She’s a member of the burn surgical team in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and she reopened the Burn Reconstructive Surgery Program and Clinic.

Her wide-ranging research interests include immunology, disaster management and prevention, tissue transplant research, and systemic responses to burn injury.

Dr. Price serves on the editorial board of ePlasty (formerly Journal of Burns and Wounds). She was named Trauma Resident of the Year by Baystate Medical Center. She is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the John Staige Davis Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Burn Association, the American College of Surgeons and the Association of Women Surgeons.
