Background

Rosanne Rouf, MD is Director of the outpatient Heart Failure Program at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and an Assistant Professor in the School of Medicine. Her research focuses on the nonmyocyte biology of heart failure and sex differences in valvular heart disease. She examines the role of hormones and gene dosage in the manifestation of pathological cardiovascular phenotypes and uses preclinical models to devise pharmacologic and gene-targeted strategies to ameliorate disease. Clinically, she is an Advanced Heart Failure cardiologist and sees patients at Johns Hopkins Bayview.

Dr. Rouf received her undergraduate and master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She graduated from the Duke University School of Medicine and completed her residency at the Tufts Medical Center. Dr. Rouf pursued cardiology training at Johns Hopkins, joining the faculty of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 2011.
