Maria Soledad Romero, M.D., is an assistant professor of ophthalmology at the Wilmer Eye Institute. She offers comprehensive ophthalmology services for both children and adults, providing medical and surgical eye care for conditions such as cataracts and corneal diseases, dry eye, glaucoma and strabismus.
Dr. Romero received her medical degree from the University Catholica Cordoba, in Argentina, and completed an ophthalmology residency at the Hospital Santa Lucia, also in Argentina. She additionally completed a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology at the Wilmer Eye Institute, and subsequently completed an additional residency in general surgery and ophthalmology at Louisiana State University. Prior to joining the faculty at the Wilmer Eye Institute, Dr. Romero was a comprehensive ophthalmologist in a private practice in Silver Spring, MD. She is fluent in Spanish.
