Dr. Grams is a practicing nephrologist whose research focuses on preventing and/or ameliorating the complications associated with chronic kidney disease. She holds a joint appointment in the Departments of Medicine and Epidemiology and works in close conjunction with several studies, including the Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities (ARIC) study and the Chronic Kidney Disease Prognosis Consortium (CKD-PC), as well as various health systems. She received an undergraduate degree in biology from Yale University, a medical degree from Columbia University, and a masters and doctoral degree in epidemiology from Johns Hopkins University.
