Jean L. Wright, M.D., is the director of the Breast Cancer Program and the director of safety and quality in the Department of Radiation Oncology and Molecular Radiation Sciences for Johns Hopkins Medicine, as well as an associate professor of radiation oncology and molecular radiation sciences at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

Dr. Wright practices out of the Kimmel Cancer Center at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Wright has an expertise in radiation treatment for breast cancer, as well as thoracic malignancies.

Dr. Wright earned her medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. She completed a residency in radiation oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. She previously served as an associate professor of clinical radiation oncology at University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

Dr. Wright is a member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, including their Breast Committee; the American Radium Society; and the Radiological Society of North America. She is also a member of Johns Hopkins Building Lifestyle, Outcomes and Care Services Research in Cancer, as well as the Sibley Memorial Hospital Cancer Committee and Fall Risk Committee.

Dr. Wright has contributed to numerous publications, presentations and clinical trials. Her research focuses on the management of locally advanced breast cancer, particularly on the role of radiation for patients who receive chemotherapy prior to mastectomy, which is known as neoadjuvant chemotherapy.

Dr. Wright is a co-lecturer and teacher for content related to breast radiation oncology and has mentored numerous students. She earned the Association of Radiation Oncology Residents' Educator of the Year award. Dr. Wright is also an associate editor for the breast section of the International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology and Physics, as well as a journal reviewer for American Journal of Clinical Oncology, Breast Cancer Research and Treatment, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Practical Radiation Oncology and Advances in Radiation Oncology.
