With combined training in open neurosurgery, endovascular neurosurgery, and interventional neuroradiology, Dr. Colby focuses on the surgical and endovascular treatment of aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), cavernous malformations, and dural arteriovenous fistulas (dAVFs) of the brain and spinal cord. These treatments include the most modern and sophisticated endovascular techniques of aneurysm flow diversion.
Dr. Colby has expertise in the pre-operative embolization of solid brain and spinal tumors. He also uses the latest surgical and endovascular techniques to treat patients with carotid artery stenosis, acute stroke, intracerberal hemorrhage (ICH), subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) and moyamoya disease.

Research & Publications
Through his research, Dr. Colby seeks to improve and develop novel endovascular devices and techniques for treatment of cerebrovascular pathology. He also seeks to understand how these devices interact with native blood vessels. Dr. Colby has published extensively in the field of endovascular aneurysm treatment using the flow diversion technique, as well as stroke and subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH).
