Biography

Dr. Sarah Temkin is adjunct associate professor in the Johns Hopkins Medicine Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics. Her areas of clinical expertise include treatment for ovarian, uterine, cervical, vaginal and vulvar cancers.

Dr. Temkin received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Cornell University. She then went on to earn her master’s degree in physiology and biophysics from Georgetown University, followed by her M.D. from Georgetown University Medical School. Dr. Temkin completed her residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center and performed a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. Dr. Temkin joined the Johns Hopkins faculty in 2014.

Prior to joining Johns Hopkins, Dr. Temkin was associate professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Dr. Temkin’s research interests include chemotherapy, radical surgery, laparoscopic and robotic surgery for gynecologic malignancies.

Dr. Temkin serves as an ad hoc reviewer for several journals, including Cancer, Gynecologic Oncology and International Journal of Gynecologic Cancer. Dr. Temkin is a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
