Dr. Daniel Harrison specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with multiple sclerosis and other autoimmune diseases of the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves.
Dr. Harrisons research focuses on the evaluation of new MRI techniques that may further our understanding of multiple sclerosis pathology, better explain cognitive and physical disability, and improve clinical trial outcome measures. He is currently involved in a series of studies evaluating the utility of diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), magnetization transfer imaging (MTR), magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS), and high magnetic field strength MRI (7 Tesla) in multiple sclerosis. Dr. Harrison also participates in multiple clinical trials of new medications for the treatment of multiple sclerosis.
Dr. Harrison received his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York. He completed residency training in neurology at the Neurological Institute of New York at Columbia University Medical Center in New York City and then came to the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine where he obtained further specialized training by completing a fellowship program in Neuroimmunology and Neurological Infections.
