Biography

Saleh Alqahtani is the director of clinical liver research at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. He is an expert in liver and digestive diseases, endoscopy, and liver transplant. Dr. Alqahtani previously was the associate director of the gastroenterology fellowship program at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He also served as an instructor in medicine at Mayo Clinic.

He earned his medical degree at King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia, completed an internal medicine residency at University of Western Ontario in Canada, performed a gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Calgary in Canada and completed an advanced hepatology fellowship at Mayo Clinic.

Dr. Alqahtani has been an invited speaker both nationally and internationally, having lectured in Latin America, Asia and Europe. He has been recognized with several awards and honors, authored numerous publications and book chapters, and is board certified in transplant hepatology, gastroenterology and internal medicine.
