Dr. Xuhang Li is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Gastroenterology and Hepatology division. He studies inflammatory bowel disease and autoimmune liver diseases.

Dr. Li holds a graduate degree from the University of Maryland, College Park and completed fellowships at the National Cancer Institute, the National Institutes of Health, the Laboratory of Molecular Biology, and at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine before joining the Johns Hopkins faculty. He is a member of the American Society for Cellular Biology and the American Gastroenterological Association and serves on the editorial boards of the International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Research, the Journal of Digestive Diseases and the World Journal of Biological Chemistry. His work has been recognized with an election to the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi in 1997, a Goldhaber Award at the University of Maryland in 1997, a Scientist of the Year Award from the GI Division of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 2005, a NIH Research Scientist Career Development Award from 2002 through 2006, and a Visiting Research Professorship at the Shanghai Jiatong University School of Medicine beginning in 2007 through the present. more
