Dr. Song specializes in pediatric ophthalmology with a special interest in cornea and refractive problems, pediatric cataracts and pediatric glaucoma. He also treats cornea and refractive problems in adults.
Dr. Song received his M.D. degree from the University of California, San Francisco. He completed an internship at UCLA Medical Center and his ophthalmology residency at the University of Southern California’s Doheny Eye Institute. Dr. Song then completed fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology at Children’s Hospital, Los Angeles and in cornea and refractive surgery at Doheny. He was director of the Cornea Institute at Children's Hospital, Los Angeles and director of the Doheny Laser Vision Center. Upon joining the Wilmer Eye Institute in 2011, Dr. Song chaired the pediatric ophthalmology division at Wilmer affiliate King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital (KKESH) in Saudi Arabia for two years.
