Background
Dr. Chen specializes in general and transplant hepatology and is a clinician-investigator of the Johns Hopkins DELTA Center for Alcohol Research and Transplant Research Center. In addition to his clinical training, Dr. Chen earned a certificate in Public Health Economics (2021) and a Ph.D. in Clinical Investigation (2023) from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
Dr. Chen applies epidemiologic, causal inference, and qualitative methodologies to study impactful inquiries across clinical (T2), implementation (T3), and population health (T4) stages of NIH/NCATS' translational science spectrum. Specifically, his research aims to improve standards of care for alcohol-associated liver disease, alcohol use disorder, and liver transplantation. Dr. Chen and colleagues have presented their work at numerous national and international scientific conferences and medical journals.
