Biography

Robert Sterling, M.D., is a member of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, specializing in hip and knee replacement. He comes to Johns Hopkins after working for 12 years as a hip and knees surgeon at the University of Maryland Medical Center. He is fellowship trained in both orthopaedic traumatology and orthopaedic joint replacement.

Dr. Sterling sees and treats adults with disorders of the hip and knee. He has extensive experience in joint replacement surgery, including both first-time and revision hip and knee replacement. Dr. Sterling has a special interest in post-traumatic arthritis of the hip and knee, unicompartmental arthroplasty of the knee, and treatment of avascular necrosis of the femoral head.

Dr. Sterling is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, and the American Orthopaedic Association.
