Background

Dr. Manisha Jashbhai Loss is an associate professor of dermatology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. A dermatologist who focuses on organ transplant recipients, she launched the mid-Atlantic''s first program solely dedicated to the care of transplant patients. Since skin cancer is the most common malignancy after transplantation, the goal of the program is to be proactive in the prevention and early treatment of the disease.

Dr. Loss is a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, a founding member of the American Board of Medical Specialties, and an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology, Skin Care in Organ Transplant Patients Europe (SCOPE), and International Transplant Skin Cancer Collaborative (ITSCC).

She has authored numerous articles and book chapters on general dermatology. Her clinical interests also include general medical dermatology, skin cancer diagnosis and management, and resident/student education.

Dr. Loss earned her undergraduate degree in biology from Wake Forest University. She received her medical degree at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine and completed her internship in internal medicine at Boston University’s Boston Medical Center. She then returned to Winston-Salem for her residency in dermatology at Wake Forest University. After residency, she received a Fulbright Scholarship to complete her fellowship training at the Charité-Universitätsmedizin in Berlin, Germany.
