Biography

Mary Chang, M.D., is the International Emergency and Public Health Fellow in the Johns Hopkins Department of Emergency Medicine.

Dr. Chang completed her Emergency Medicine training at University of Texas-Houston and was the vice chief for global health during her senior year. During residency, she worked with refugees, internally displaced populations, and ethnic minority groups along the Thailand-Myanmar border which inspired her to pursue an MPH degree.

Last year, she was the first Yale/Stanford Johnson & Johnson Global Health Scholar from Texas. Her international interests include refugee healthcare, developing healthcare systems in developing countries, and humanitarian assistance. She has previously worked in Liberia, Mexico, and Bolivia. Her other interests include volunteering as a medical relief physician, running, photography, and hiking.
