Dr. Vinciya Pandian is an assistant professor of anesthesiology and critical care medicine and of otolaryngology - head and neck surgery at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Her research focuses on ventilation procedures and airway complications.
Dr. Pandian serves as the nursing director of the Percutaneous Tracheostomy Program and the director of practice, education and research of the Johns Hopkins Airway Program.
She is currently engaged in studying quality of life in mechanically ventilated patients, tracheostomy outcomes and airway complications.
Dr. Pandian received her M.S.N. and Ph.D. at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing.
Dr. Pandian serves on the Board of Directors for the Society of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Nurses and as president of the Maryland/DC chapter of the Society of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Nurses. Her work has been recognized with the Literary Award for Excellence in Otorhinolaryngologic Nursing Publishing from the Society of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Nurses. She is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success.
