Background
Dr. Vinay Parekh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His areas of clinical expertise include addiction psychiatry and community psychiatry. Dr. Parekh is also interested in the development of EMR based clinical decision support tools in psychiatry. Other interests include the use of digital tools to provide both provider and patient facing education on psychiatric disorders.
Dr. Parekh has leadership roles in undergraduate medical education in psychiatry for The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He serves as Director of the Core Clerkship in Psychiatry for The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine as well as a section leader for the first-year medical student course, Genes to Society: Brain, Mind and Behavior.
Dr. Parekh earned his M.D. at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He completed his psychiatry residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital where he also served as chief resident.
