Background

Dr. Marissa J. White is a Maryland native and obtained her B.A. from the University of Richmond. She then earned her M.D. from Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. White completed her residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where she served as Chief Resident from 2016-2017. She then completed the Advanced Specialty Training Program in Surgical Pathology at Johns Hopkins Hospital, with a subspecialty focus in breast pathology.

Dr. White is a member of the Division of Surgical Pathology where she signs out general surgical pathology and has a subspecialty focus in breast pathology. As a clinician-educator, her research interests include clinical diagnostics in breast pathology and graduate and undergraduate pathology medical education. She is also deeply committed to improving health equity, and specifically focuses on increasing diversity, inclusion, and equity in medical education. She works closely with the Pathology Diversity Committee to support the department’s commitment to a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
