Background

Dr. Mamo’s clinical practice is dedicated to diagnostic audiology and patient-centered rehabilitative solutions to support better hearing and communication for older adults and families experiencing hearing loss. Her research focuses on developing novel approaches to audiology services that provide more accessible and affordable hearing intervention options to adults with untreated hearing loss. She is especially interested in developing strategies that address the unique challenges faced by families experiencing dementia and age-related hearing loss.

Dr. Mamo did her clinical and research training at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. She joined the Johns Hopkins Department of Otolaryngology as a Research Postdoctoral Fellow in 2014. Currently, she is an Instructor in the Dept. of Otolaryngology and provides clinical services with the Division of Audiology. She is actively engaged in several research projects at the Center on Aging and Health in collaboration with the Lin Research Group.
