Dr. Russell was great. I was a little confused about follow up and depended on the notes to help me remember. The notes did not clarify the follow up. I asked for a follow-up on My Chart.

Dr. Russell is awesome! He showed concern for my preference to avoid surgery if possible and outlined steps we're taking to determine if surgery is needed. Also, he suspects a problem with my kidneys and we are taking steps to learn kidney status.

In general, surgeons tend to be known for their lack of concern and empathy. Dr. Russell was exactly the opposite. He asked about my job, my family, and wanted to know what outcomes were important to me personally. I felt cared for as a whole person, and he was willing to do everything in his power to make my surgery successful.

Dr Russell explained everything in detail along with the nurses during my procedure. He was very caring & asked several times if I was feeling any discomfort & stopped immediately when I mentioned any pain. He made my visit comfortable because I suffer from anxiety at times.
