Dr. Agarwal then served as an assistant professor of surgery at West Virginia University in Charleston for three years, where he was also an active member of the trauma team and leader of trauma research. He then went on to complete a colon and rectal surgery fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis. 

Dr. Agarwal is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
