Dr. Colette M. Magnant is a board certified breast surgeon at Sibley Memorial Hospital. She is the chair of the Sibley Cancer Committee and the director of the Sullivan Breast Center, of which she is also the founding physician. She practices out of the Sullivan Breast Center located in Sibley’s Renaissance building. Dr. Magnant makes patients aware of all surgical options for their breast cancer treatment and how the surgical decisions impact the overall plan of care.
Dr. Magnant has a general expertise in surgery, including breast conserving surgery, nipple sparing, skin sparing mastectomy and oncoplastic techniques to improve cosmetic outcomes.
Dr. Magnant earned her medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University Medical College and completed an internship at Indiana University School of Medicine. She completed a residency in general surgery at Georgetown University Hospital. Dr. Sullivan founded the Sullivan Breast Center at Sibley in 1998 with the goal of providing multidisciplinary care for breast cancer patients in a collaborative environment that includes breast imaging, breast surgery, breast reconstruction, radiation oncology, medical oncology, physical therapy and other key services.
Dr. Magnant is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She has been named a Regional Top Doctor by Castle Connolly.
Dr. Magnant has contributed to numerous publications and presentations.
